Every Student Succeeds Act & Supporting Foster Youth as Students
Once you have completed each resource in this collection, including passing the check-for-understanding quizzes, you can find a completion certificate in your Learning Lab user profile.
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 created a number of new requirements for schools to aid in supporting the unique needs of students in foster care. Primary among them is prioritizing educational stability for foster youth. This training is useful for education professionals/administrators serving in the role of Foster Care Point of Contact for the local education agency, as well as other professionals/lay people who are involved/interested in addressing the traditional academic and behavioral achievement gap that has existed between those students in foster care and their non-foster peers.
