World Read Aloud Day
World Read Aloud Day is celebrated on the first Wednesday of February.
LitWorld founded World Read Aloud Day in 2010 to advocate for access to literacy and diverse stories, as well as the power of reading aloud - an activity that has an immensely powerful impact on children’s development. World Read Aloud Day motivates children, teens, and adults to celebrate the power of words. World Read Aloud Day asks everyone to celebrate the day by grabbing a book, finding an audience, and reading out loud. Additionally, the day is widely celebrated across social media, with the hashtag #worldreadaloudday.
